So I'm starting my own business. It's exciting and scary. I'm sinking more of my savings (and credit card debt) into photo equipment to try something that might fail miserably. Or that might keep me in Chicago even if Cindy decides to move to California.

The bulk of the business will be photographing people's artwork. They need slides and digital photos to get into galleries and and to make web pages. Cindy's mother's friend has done this for years, and has a respectable client list, but she's moving to DC in a week and hadn't found anybody suitable to take over the client list. So that's me. The work is straightforward and interesting, but I'm going to have to expand the client list if I want to make any money at this.

So now I spent my days learning about Epson 2200 print drivers, continuous lighting systems, and double-entry accounting. This could be really fun if it works, or a colossal failure.
